Personal Theory and Philosophy of Coaching
My coaching establishes a trusted and safe relationship, where my role is to ask powerful questions that provoke the client to different perspectives, provide useful approaches and models, and create practices that help reinforce new behaviors. I believe that dramatic shifts in results require looking beyond the client’s actions (doing) to how s/he is showing up (being) in the use of language, emotions and the body. I coach clients in their use of language; including making effective offers, requests, and commitments; in becoming aware of their emotions and how they impact their actions and relationships and in their bodies, and how they can get different results by shifting their body postures. My approach is not one of the “expert”, but the “guide” in the client’s development. It also includes courageously asking the difficult questions that challenge the client, but always from a place of commitment to their success.
